Described as one of the most fascinating, violent and self-sufficient communities in South Africa, Diepsloot township is also bursting with human potential in its population of close to 300 000.
This is where Afrika Tikkun elected to build the Diepsloot Centre, known today as the Wings of Life. Thanks to generous sponsorship, Afrika Tikkun was able to open this centre in 2008 – equipped to enable the effective implementation of the Cradle to Career Model. Today it is a showcase for Afrika Tikkun. It took vision and determination and a will to succeed – and it has changed the lives of thousands of South Africans.
Today Wings of Life is the largest of the five centres. Supported by a team of 82 people, the dynamic Centre Manager – Sipho Mamize is at the helm.
