You never work a day in your life when you love what you do

We love it when our young people take the training we provide and run with it. This month we feature Lucia, who from an early age, had a love for the arts. Today she has taken her passion and turned it into a business. Her company, “NHLONIPHO CRAFT ART”, comes from the respect she has for her products, which include beading, badges, jewellery and mosaics.

After graduating, Lucia trained 15 young, unemployed women from her community as her way of giving back. Read more

Celebrating Africa’s Heritage

South Africa will be celebrating its diverse heritage this month. It’s time to reflect on what it really means to be South Africa, African, or any number of the many ethnicities we celebrate in this country. While heritage exists to give us a sense of community, it’s not intended to serve as a source of conflict or division. This heritage month, as we enjoy our braais, dress in traditional wear and celebrate our music, let’s celebrate the real meaning of diversity. Let’s not limit our celebrations to aspects of South Africa’s culture, but let us embrace the many cultures across Africa that fuse with our own, ultimately enrich our own sense of who we are.

Afrika Tikkun’s Got Talent!

Afrika Tikkun’s 2019 Talent Day, was an incredible showcase of the diverse skills and talents of our children. The laughter, healthy competition and team camaraderie made the day rewarding and enjoyable for our children, their families, Afrika Tikkun staff and all our invited guests. Thank you to all the Alumnis who served on the day.
